Atelier in an anti-squat building at Zandstraat 2 - 8200, Bruges - near the trainstation of Bruges. (2026)
In my artistic practice, I poetically explore the intersections between material research and human behaviour. My search for found objects, street debris and discarded materials has become a constant thread throughout my life. Along the way, I am drawn to the spectacles of colour, textures, analogies, metaphors and associations that emerge.
What initially appears meaningless, I transform through my imagination and my perspective on society into a new context, a new narrative.
On the one hand, I investigate the material culture of waste and consumer goods, approaching objects and materials as carriers of hidden values and traces of human behaviour. On the other hand, I focus on the ways in which people navigate the tensions between the individual and the collective, freedom and oppression, nature and industry, and public and private space. Within this framework, I also explore themes such as labour, gender and overconsumption. I examine how the social structures that arise from these constellations shape and influence the world we inhabit.
I work with collage, assemblage, fine art prints, installation art and audiovisual art. My work contains references to conceptual art, Arte Povera and ecology. Through wordplay and pop art strategies, I also employ irony, sarcasm and satire as instruments of critique.
My work invites reflection, reveals vulnerability and offers hope and solace.
